Words From Your Pastor

What is a Friend?

According to John 15:5, it is staying connected. “I am the vine you are the branches. He who abides in me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

Jesus said, “You are my friend if you do whatever I command you.”  - John 15:14

God has a plan and He invites us to be in on it. He wants us to stick close and follow through; friends don’t let friends down.

Here is an illustration I read, “A Young boy was sent to the corner store by his mother to buy a loaf of bread. He was gone much too long. When he finally returned, his mother asked, “Where have you been? I’ve been worried sick about you.”

“Well”, he answered, “There was a little boy with a broken bike who was crying. So I stopped to help him.”

“I didn’t know you knew anything about fixing bikes,” his mother said.

“I don’t”, he replied. “I just stayed there and cried with him.”

A friend stays with you and stays connected.

One of my favorite things about having Jesus as my friend is I can tell Him anything. I can trust Him. He always has my best interest in mind. Without Him I can do nothing. If He is not your friend, please call out to Him in prayer. He will surely bless you.

Follow through with the things He has trusted you with. Go love loud with a life changing deed.

Make a new friend.

Your Pastor,
Jimmy Snell
